ARLINGTON — Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle finished Sunday’s regular-season finale with 72 rushing yards on 22 carries and a touchdown in a loss to the Commanders.

Dowdle carried the ball 23 times for 104 yards against the Eagles. It’s Dowdle’s fourth 100-yard performance of the season — they’ve all come in the past five games. Prior to Dowdle’s hot streak, the Cowboys had the second-longest 100-yard rusher drought in the NFL.

The season is done for the Dallas Cowboys, as the Trey Lance-led squad couldn’t survive a back-and-forth second half against the Washington Commanders, losing 23-16 in the season finale. For Lance, it was a healthy effort despite the loss in his first start since 2022, and defensively Micah Parsons had a big day with 2.5 sacks.

The Dallas Cowboys were embarrassed by the Philadelphia Eagles but Rico Dowdle still made franchise history in Week 17.
