Richmond Mayor Danny Avula is holding a press conference Friday morning in which he plans to address updates on water service, the city water treatment plant, tests of the water and preparation ahead of the expected winter storm.

In an update on Richmond's water service and the city's water treatment plant, Mayor Danny Avula announced Wednesday morning that he thought it was unlikely that the boil water advisory would be lifted before Friday.

Officials say that a boil-water advisory in Virginia's capital will remain in place at least until Saturday morning.
