Some Social Security recipients will see a payment schedule change for the end of 2024 and start of 2025. Recipients of Social Security Income, or SSI, typically receive their payments on the first of each month. However, because Jan. 1 is New Year’s Day and a holiday, the payments will be made on Dec. 31, 2024 instead.
Social Security: When are benefits being sent out in 2025?
For recipients who began receiving benefits before May 1997 or who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), payments are made on the third of each month. SSI payments are made on the first of each month.
