Donald Trump's appointment of an immigrant from India is causing considerable controversy within the MAGA movement after he was named senior adviser on artificial intelligence.

Sriram Krishnan has become a MAGA lightning rod since President-elect Trump named him as a senior advisor on artificial intelligence, due to both anti-Indian racism and Krishnan's pro-immigration views.

MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, another name for Trump followers, have also criticised Krishnan’s nomination, with activist Laura Loomer accusing him of betraying the “America First” agenda.

Recently, the Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna criticised those targeting Indian-born Krishnan, over his Indian origin.
