City and religious leaders lit the Menorah in Downtown Pittsburgh for Hanukkah. Mayor Ed Gainey led the event and said he hoped people could find light in any darkness they might be experiencing. “We pray for world peace. We pray for togetherness and we pray to the light every time we see any form of ugly hatred,” Gainey said.

The first night of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah is underway. On the first night of Hanukkah, one candle is lit from the eight candle menorah and there is a story behind this.
