Pennsylvania State Police report an increase in crashes and decrease in fatalities and DUIs over the Christmas hoiday in the state. Troopers investigated 495 crashes, resulting in one death and 81 injuries, from Dec. 24 to 26. Impaired driving was a factor in 27 of these crashes.

(WKBN) — Pennsylvania State Police released its crash and enforcement report for the holiday between Dec. 24 to 26. They responded to 495 crashes. One was fatal and 27 involved a DUI. Last year, there were 411 crashes, three were fatal and 36 involved a DUI.

A Massachusetts woman was intoxicated and had two babies and another adult in the vehicle when police say she caused a crash and then fled the scene on I-84 in Connecticut on Christmas.Pheak Si, 40, of Lowell,

Those crashes resulted in one death and 81 injuries. Impaired driving played a part in 27 of those crashes, state police said. Also during that time period, state police arrested 138 people for driving under the influence.
