African lion, Nyalla, dies at Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro on New Year’s Eve
A 20-year-old female African lion died on New Year’s Eve at an Attleboro zoo. Nyalla, who was born in November 2004, resided at Capron Park Zoo, where she “passed naturally” with staff present, according to a Facebook post from the zoo.

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro announced the death of Nyalla the lion. Nyalla, a female lion born in 2004, passed away on New Year’s Eve. She was brought to the zoo in 2005 with her sister Kayla to join the male lion Ramses in the exhibit for breeding purposes.
