When using Quick Share, users will now see a "Use QR code" option in the sharing menu. Selecting this option will create a QR code that can be scanned by other Android devices. Once scanned, the receiving device is directed to a quickshare.google link, and the transfer starts, as reported by Android Central.

Google is rolling out a really handy new feature for Android users after announcing it back in December: QR code-based sharing in Quick Share. First announced back in December, this update is set to simplify file sharing across Android devices.

Like many people who live in a house, mine is filled with far too many storage bins of various shapes and sizes. The all-knowing social media algorithms must have caught wind of this fact because, late last year, my wife and I both started seeing ads for app-based QR code organization kits. I was immediately intrigued.

The company has finally started rolling out the QR-code-based sharing feature to all supported Android devices – both smartphones and tablets. If you are unaware, the feature has already been there in Samsung phones even before Quick Share became the default file-sharing tool for Android.
