South African cricketer Keshav Maharaj has backed the team to win the World Test Championship (WTC) title 2023/25. The Proteas will take on reigning champions Australia in a do-or-die match at the Lord's Cricket Ground in June.

Keshav Maharaj said that South Africa deserve to lift the World Test Championship title when they face Pat Cummins' Australia later this year in the summit clash at the Lord's Cricket Ground.

The ICC has fined Pakistan players 25 percent of their match fee and also docked the team five World Test Championship points for maintaining a slow over-rate against South Africa in the second test at Newlands.

They have now lost a total of 13 points during the 2023-25 cycle, putting them in danger of a bottom-place finish
