The Kremlin on Monday rejected Turkish media reports which suggested that Asma al-Assad, the British-born wife of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, wanted a divorce and to leave Russia.

Following reports in Turkish media, a Kremlin spokesman denies Asma al-Assad wants to divorce her husband and leave Russia.

Assad’s British-born wife was seeking a divorce and wanted to return to Britain. Russia also denied claims that the deposed Syrian ruler and Asma al-Assad, his wife, had been confined to Moscow and their property assets had been frozen by Russian authorities.
