It happened a little after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Soto Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Police said a 2013 GMC Acadia was traveling west on Trinity Street and approached the intersection at the same time as a pedestrian, who was walking. The pedestrian, 30-year-old Uniqa Robinson, was struck by the vehicle while in the roadway.

It happened at around 5:20 a.m. on northbound lanes near Wilshire Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
