Mexican firefighters have arrived in U.S. to help battle wildfires which have devastated large areas of California. Two aircraft carrying the crews, as well as humanitarian aid, landed in Los Angeles on Saturday where they were greeted by California Governor Gavin Newsom.

The president-elect blamed California Governor Gavin Newsom for the massive fires that have forced tens of thousands to evacuate, saying the governor should have signed a declaration to pump more water through the state.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom. The Prime Minister offered his sincerest condolences regarding the fatalities and destruction in the Los Angeles area from the ongoing wildfires, and he offered Canada’s full support to assist California’s firefighting efforts.
