Two women in Florida spent Christmas at the bottom of a quarry before being rescued the following morning on Thursday, Dec. 26. The Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to an emergency call after the women fell nearly 50 feet into the quarry on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

Two women were rescued after they fell off a cliff at a Citrus County golf course on Christmas Day, officials said.

Two women plummeted into a “cavernous” golf course quarry on Christmas and weren’t discovered until the next day, according to rescuers in Florida. They survived but were hospitalized after a complex rescue staged early Thursday, Dec. 26, in the Lecanto area of Citrus County, first responders said in a news release.
